21st century technologies
How are these helping your business?

Apart from word-processing and spreadsheets, how much is your business using technology to streamline the way your staff interact with one another and with your stakeholders and clients?   The answer is probably not as much as as it should and could!

Before March/April 2020, very few people had heard of Zoom, let alone the concept of “Zoom meetings” (or "Zui", in the Māori lexicon).  In an interview posted on YouTube it was apparent that even technology guru Bill Gates was surprised at the satisfaction and accomplishment levels of Zoom meetings.

The world is struggling with the planet’s “carbon footprint” and commuting infrastructure is causing both financial and logistical headaches around the globe. Zoom meetings (along with other video conferencing technologies), coupled with working at least partially from either home or a local “remote hub”, have a significant contribution to make in reducing these pressures.  Now having experienced the COVID-19 Lockdown, there is a realisation that expensive CBD offices for "back office" personnel are not required in today's technological age.

Every "good idea" needs to be supported by a business case.  The analysis below allows a user to calculate the time savings and reduction in carbon footprint by meeting attendees participating via Zoom.  To see an example, click on the link below:

At NZRemoteHub.net, we are advocating that businesses consider sharing the time-saving benefit of using Zoom with the staff whenever possible.  Besides the considerable cost saving and reduction in carbon footprint, there will have been a major time saving, quantifiable in the App.

The concept of TOIL (time off in lieu) is understood within leading employer organisations. Why not consider sharing the "saved time" (say 50/50) adding the benefit to TOIL to be used for attending school functions, shopping (eg around Xmas), going home early or having the occasional extra day off?  It's called win, win!

These types of initiative soon get businesses to "preferred employer" status!
